Interesting 1906 Baltimore Orioles related cabinet featuring members of the Eastern League squad including its manager, Hughie Jennings. The matted sepia-toned photograph measures 12x10 and has sustained extensive perimeter fraying, notching and additional pin holes. With exception to a nearly 4” surface contusion affecting four players (including Jennings), the turn-of-the-century ballpark image is clean. Also pictured are background spectators adorned in period garb. Fortunately for the winning bidder, the original owner neatly etched the player's identities along the bottom portion of the keepsake. Included are:
Top Row: Goodwin, Jim Mullin, Doc Atkins, Harry McNeal, Newt Hunter, P. Mullin, John Kelly, Ramsey;
Middle Row: Del Mason, Hugh Hearne, Bill Byers, Hughie Jennings (Manager, in Brooklyn uniform), Fred Burchell, Bill O’Hara;
Bottom Row: Ellicot, Cummings, Barton, Lynch and Bob Hall.
Multiple players pictured did not suit up for the 1906 Orioles (possible tryout) and the location of this cabinet is unknown.
