Description



Numismatic and historical appeal abounds in this accumulation of (140+) one & two cent coin types. Ranging in date from 1836-1927 these small denomination coins were essential to commerce during the “Industrial Age”. Highlighting this compilation are (6) “Flying Eagle” cents, (5) “Large” cents, (6) Two cent coins, (12) “better date” Lincoln cents and (110+) “Indian Head” cents. Also included are (3) coveted Civil War tokens including (2) rare variations, these tokens were created to fill the void resulting from shortages caused by war time hoarding.

Large Cents: 1836 (AG), 1838 (VG), (2) 1845 (1-F, 1-VG), 1855 (VF)

Flying Eagle Cents: (3) 1857 (1-F, 1-VG, 1-G), (3) 1858 (1-VF, (2)-G)

Indian Head Cents: 1859 (VG), 1862 (G, porous), (2) 1864 (both G, 1 porous, 1 green patina), (110) 1889-1908 dates (10% VG, 80% G, 10% AG)

Lincoln Cents: (2) 1909-VDB (1-F, 1-VG), (9) 1909-1927 dates (G/VG), 1955 partial double die on last “5” (VF)

Two Cent Pieces: 1864 (AG), (2) 1865 (both G), (2) 1867 (1-F, 1-VG “holed”), 1869 (VG)

1863 Store Card Indian Head obverse,” rare” Trune Munfacturing-Detroit reverse (AG, environmental damage)
1863 Liberty Cap obverse, “rare” *Millions for Defense, Not One Cent for Tribute reverse (G)
*this motto also appeared on large cent size 1830s “Hard Times” tokens.
