One could argue that Japanís first acquired taste of Western culture was that of baseball and its unmistakable spokesperson, Babe Ruth. Itís well documented that even during the decline of his career on U.S. soil, Ruth was the most celebrated figure on the 1934 Tour of Japan. This Far East adoration is evidenced with this 1948 Japanese publication. Entitled ďThe Babe Ruth Story,Ē the 360-page bound soft cover edition is printed entirely in Japanese and reads from right to left. This is a rare Bambino relic from the other side of the globe!
