Description

Thrust into the role of U.S. President upon William McKinley’s assassination, 42-year-old Theodore Roosevelt became the youngest-ever Chief Executive. Issued during his term in office, this sepia-toned cabinet photo display was endorsed by the exuberant leader. The 6x8 thick stock piece is the backing for an adhered profile likeness with an “O.M. Bell Photographic Co.” stamping. On the lower border, Roosevelt has penned in black-ink steel tip fountain pen: “To Mis (sic) Evelyn Poultry Bigelow with best wishes from Theodore Roosevelt Sept 17th 1904.” The signature projects (“7-8”) strength and clarity. The signed portion is cracked and almost completely separated from the overall piece. Full photo LOA from PSA/DNA.
