Hip hip, Jorge! The familiar Yankee Stadium refrain is resurrected with this Louisville Slugger “M356” signature model weapon manufactured for the former Yankee backstop and used during the 2003 season. This (31.6-oz/34”) ash lumber features a glossy black “Smith” finish and silver-colored stampings. Excellent game use is evident with ball, cleat and deeply embedded stitch marks throughout, as well as an impression from a weighted batting donut and transposed stampings from a Yankees 100th anniversary ball. A sizable handle crack represents the bat’s demise.
While the model number and specifications are consistent with Posada’s game-used bats of that period, missing characteristics include crisscross tape and heavy pine tar residue. Thus, in the opinion of PSA/DNA, the bat’s use by Posada cannot be confirmed. Full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA.
