From Philadelphia’s Connie Mack-led franchise, these Athletics items include throwback apparel and vintage flats. Includes: 1929 Replica Jacket tailored by Mitchell & Ness, this blue leather button-down garment features the pachyderm logo sewn to the left breast. The size “46” jacket is unworn with its original retail tagging; Original News Service Photos includes an Associated Press 1930 World Series photo and a 1944 spring training photo; 1932 Program from an exhibition between the Athletics and Stroudsburg Poconos. 1929 Replica Jacket the jacket features two front pockets with white leather panels accenting the openings; red-white-and-blue striped stretch ribbed cotton lines the collar, waistline and sleeve endings.

1930 World Series Original News Service Photo measuring 10-1/4 x 8”, this black-and-white aerial shot of Shibe Park portrays a packed house during the 1930 Fall Classic. The date (“OCT 8 1930”) is stamped on the reverse, which is also home to an “ASSOCIATED PRESS PHOTO” stamping and several grease pencil editorial markings. The item shows expected newsroom handling, with creases throughout, a small team at the lower left and remnants from the original caption sheet adhered to the reverse.

1944 Original News Service Photo a 10x8 black-and-white photo of legendary skipper Connie Mack offering hands-on instruction to his pitchers during the club’s spring training session in Frederick, MD. A date (“APR 1944”) is stamped on the reverse and a typewritten caption lists the subjects. A vintage “The Sporting News” stamping and a “Sporting News Collection” hologram appear on the reverse.

1932 Exhibition Program a 12-page publication issued for the September 7, 1932 exhibition between the Athletics and Stroudsburg Poconos. Mack is pictured on the front cover and players for both rosters are depicted on the interior pages. The scoring grids are unmarked and list the lineups. With covers and pages intact, the guide shows (VG) quality with (3) vertical compacting folds and spine wear.
