Button, button who’s got the button…you, if you claim this lot of (61) Civil War era brass buttons. These remarkably well preserved buttons measure 3/4" in diameter and feature a heraldic Eagle clutching arrows and branches with a shield over the breast. Sixty of these buttons are shank back types showing mid to high levels of luster and sharp details. The various manufacturers include (46) Horstmann of Philadelphia, (8) Scovill of Waterbury, (3) Steele-Johnson and (3) C. Kenyon of New York. The remaining button is a screw back type with a 1” diameter and a crossed rifle design with the number 45 and the letter E.
