With pitching statistics comparable to Hall of Famers such as Chief Bender, Jack Chesbro and Stan Coveleski, Parisian Bob Caruthers was also a capable batter for the Brooklyn Bridegrooms of the American Association. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, this impressive 1888 N173 Old Judge Cabinet depicts Caruthers wielding his weapon of choice on his left shoulder. The slightly muted image of the mustachioed southerner is clear with well-formed corners and crisp edges. The blank reverse is not seriously affected by mild discoloration.
