Description

Say yes to “Dr. No” with these (2) fantastic first edition James Bond novels written by the great Ian Fleming. Presented are first edition, first printing U.K. & U.S. versions of “Dr. No” with original dust jackets. The U.K. version has a nicely preserved dust jacket, a solid spine, clean cover and sturdy off-white pages. The U.S. version’s dust jacket shows considerable wear, the cover and spine are clean and sturdy, the pages are light cream colored. Both versions have small pencil marks on the first blank page inside the front cover. More on our website.

The U.K. edition features the female silhouette dust jacket. The publishing page states “first published in 1958 by Glidrose productions”, there are no other dates on the page. The jacket is covered in plastic, it has four clipped corners and shows the 13s.6d.net legend. The first blank page inside the front cover has pencil marks. The pages are clean and have a crisp feel, the spine and cover are very nice with only minor signs of wear and the silver gilding on the spine is very strong. The U.S. edition dust jacket features an octopus on the front cover. It has a plastic cover, and there is an inner support page attached. The jacket shows considerable wear including a 1” missing section at the top of the spine, some scuffing front & back and cracking along the perimeter. There is some light foxing on the first blank pages inside the front and back covers. The spine and cover are clean and solid with light age appropriate wear, the pages are light cream colored. The publishing page states “copyright Glidrose Productions 1958, first printing”, there are no other dates on the page.
