In between “The Fight of the Century” and “Thrilla in Manila,” Muhammad Ali regained Heavyweight Champion status with an eighth-round knockout of formidable opponent George Foreman. Bestowed by Ali upon trainer Angelo Dundee in the aftermath of the epic “Rumble in the Jungle,” this gold-colored medallion ranks as a rare and coveted pugilism souvenir. Attached to a 24” braided gold-colored chain, a 1-1/2”-diameter medallion showcases a relief bust of Ali with “WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION – 1974” and a facsimile signature accenting the obverse. On the reverse, a silhouette of Africa bears Ali’s name and a “GOOD LUCK” salutation, as well as the date (October 30, 1974) in raised letters. Accompanying is an LOA signed by Dundee (JSA cert/sticker).
