Often overshadowed within the bumper crop of promising young stars unveiled by the Marlins, second baseman Dan Uggla was issued this Louisville Slugger “I13” signature model bat during the 2006-2008 labeling period. The (31.2-oz/33-7/8”) white ash weapon’s issue coincides with the first three seasons of a career in which Uggla has become the only second baseman to author four successive seasons of 30 or more home runs. Outstanding use is evident in the form of ball and deeply embedded stitch marks about the barrel, as well as transposed stampings from OML baseballs. A heavy coat of pine tar covers the upper handle and center brand, while an H-shaped crack of over 10 inches extends from the mid to upper handle. A 3-1/4” layer of soiled athletic tape covers the knob and lower handle and black marker notations of “6” appear on the knob and cupped end. Auction LOA from PSA/DNA (for bat only).
