The fourth-quickest to 100 career home runs (in terms of games played), Florida Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez reached that milestone en route to the National League batting title in 2009. This Louisville Slugger “S318” (30.1-oz/33-7/8”) block-letter model weapon was used and signed by the perennial MVP candidate during that banner season. The white ash lumber features the famed bat plant’s 125th anniversary logo engraved between the prominent center brand and barrel stampings. Just to the right of that feature, Ramirez’ black marker autograph and inscription of “Game used 09” project (“9”) strength and clarity. The item exhibits evidence of outstanding game use with ball, bat-rack, cleat and deeply embedded stitch marks throughout, as well as blue ink transfers from OML spheres. The handle is home to a light application of pine tar and a 9” H-shaped crack represents the bat’s demise. In black marker, Ramirez’ customary “H2R” is inscribed on both the knob and cupped end, while the former location is also home to length, weight and manufacture date stampings. Full photo LOA from John Taube, PSA/DNA (for bat only).
