This circa 1880s “card and scrap” album with (775+) non-sport cards is absolutely packed with nineteenth century “N” designations from dozens of different series and themes. These antiquities are neatly arranged on (23) double-sided pages and one small section including the covers. Although the covers and pages are separated, the interior cards have weathered the past 125 years in an impressive state of preservation. The primarily 12x10 pages are brittle with nearly half displaying missing chunks along with moderate instances of trimming and card remnants due to attempted removal. Although several surfaces generally display a combination of wear including acute centering, paper loss or trimming, the overall eye appeal is still very nice. Additionally, approximately 10% of the cards display pieces of advertising sheets or panels. Some of the designations found within include:
Allen & Ginter: (39) N2 Indians (approximately 35-40% from advertising sheet with (2) Geronimo), (12) N4 Birds of America, (10) N5 Birds of the Tropics, (9) N8 Fish From American Waters, (22) N9 & 10 Flags of All Nations, (12) N11 Flags of the States & Territories, (30) N19 Pirates of the Spanish Main, (40) N24 Types of All Nations, (21) N26 World’s Beauties (Lillian Russell), (3) N36 American Indian Chiefs, (4) N37 & N38 Birds of the Tropics & America, N39 Fish From American Waters, (7) N41 Quadrupeds, (6) N44 World’s Decorations;
